Clelia Le Bret (Cellist)

Clelia started her musical education in France at the CRR de Rueil Malmaison where she studied with Michael Tafforeau and at the CRR de Paris where she studied with Helene Dautry. In 2019 she moved to London and entered the Royal College of Music as a Charles Ravel scholar. She is currently in her fourth year of the BMus degree course, studying with Alexander Chausian.

Clelia is fond of chamber music. In 2020, she won the 1st prize in the RCM String Quartet competition with the Gasparo Quartet. She also had the chance to perform Brahms Sextet alongside the Sacconi Quartet in 2019. She is currently part of the Aida Piano Trio. Together they have received advice from great musicians such as Marc Durel, Danny Driver and Mark Messenger. In March 2023 they took part in masterclasses at the Watford Piano Day.

As an orchestral musician, Clelia had the chance to work with great conductors at the RCM. In 2021 she led the cello section in Mahler’s Fourth Symphony under the baton of Jak Van Steen. She also played as a section leader during a Maxim Vengerov orchestral masterclass. In 2022 she performed as cello solo in Rossini’s “William Tell Overture”. More recently she took part in a production of Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” conducted by Bertie Baigent at the Waterperry Opera Festival 2022.
